Megan became a Licensed Acupuncturist in 2009 after completing her MTCM with Five Branches University. A lifelong interest in medicine combined with her own personal health reasons, lead her to study acupuncture. She planned on going to Medical School and even started down that path! She received her first acupuncture appointment at the age of 16. She was hooked! Reading acupuncture books for fun in her spare time through undergrad at University of Maryland, she decided that she should give up her dream of Medical School and continue her schooling with her true calling. She moved to Seattle and began Acupuncture School at Bastyr University in 2004. Loving the school but feeling the pressures of a Northwest winter, she found Five Branches University. The school also allowed her to branch out and learn TCM but also explore Medical Qigong and Five Elements Style acupuncture. These became specialities of hers.
Megan began working as an Herbal Consultant with Kan Herb Company directly out of school. This developed her foundational herbal knowledge in acupuncture school into a true specialization. Megan became an educator for senior and budding practitioners of eastern and western medical traditions, even veterinarians! Megan grew to become a specialist in Chinese herb manufacturing and Quality Control procedures. Megan worked with Kan Herb Company until 2015.
Megan is one of the founding proprietors of Communi-Qi Acupuncture that opened its doors in 2011. Megan is currently completing her DAOM degree with Five Branches University.
